The Sadist’s Bible, Nicole Cushing’s follow-up to her Bram Stoker Award-winning first novel Mr. Suicide, is seeking an illustrated print edition and some generous lovers of extreme horror literature to help fund it.
The Kickstarter campaign, which launched nine days ago, has already raised $1000 of its $3000 goal. The final product, should it achieve funding, will be a 140-page book with full-colour glossy cover and interior illustrations by Patrick McEvoy. The campaign also promises that the print edition will “include scene-specific typographic and graphic design.”

Thirty-seven year old Ellie Blake is about to find out. Her Bible Belt community wouldn’t dare accept her if she came out as a lesbian. But Lori has another agenda, too: to escape an oppressive force that might be God or might be the Devil. A force that even suicide may not allow her to escape. A force that wants Lori, Ellie, and all of humanity broken and brought to its knees.
The Kickstarter campaign offers a number of cool perks for pledging your support, among them digital, physical and autographed copies of The Sadist’s Bible, art, bumper stickers, bookmarks, a class offered (via Google Hangout) by Cushing on goal-setting for writers, and even something called “a creepy ‘God Wants Us Broken’ religious tract.”
